LEGAL SUPPORT BASIS ANALYSIS OF THE DEVELOPMENT AND POLICY REALIZATION IN THE SECURITY OF THE UKRAINIAN-RUSSIAN STATE BORDER AREA

Abstract

This article indicates that the key factor of influence on the border security remains direct and mediated actions of Russia, annexation of Crimea, fighting in the East of the country, which caused to the loss of control over Ukrainian-Russian state border sector, measuring 409,7 kilometres with Russia Federation in Donetsk and partially in Luhansk regions.

It has been noted, that Ukraine faces the specific border security challenges, arising from military aggression on the part of the Russia Federation against sovereign territory of Ukraine.

The basic principles of international law have been outlined, which related to the development and policy realization in the security of the Ukrainian-Russian state border area.

It has been pointed out, that in accordance with current rules of international law the State borders are inviolable as well as the territory of State. The violation of territorial integrity and contiguity constitutes the violation of international law.

It has been reviewed the current intergovernmental legal framework on ensuring the Government’s policy in the security of the Ukrainian-Russian state border sphere.
